Alecia earned her Canine Massage Therapy (C.M.T.) certification from Equissage in the summer of 2006.  Equissage is the world's leading trainer of equine massage therapists and has recently added the canine massage therapy certification to it's curriculum.

Canine massage (sports) is a deep-tissue therapy involving the voluntary muscles of the dog. Health benefits of massage have been shown to enhance muscle tone, improve circulation, increase blood flow and promote an overall balance in the entire body. Canine massage is an excellent therapy to use on dogs who are obese, diabetic, arthritic or suffering from dysplasia.  It is also used on show dogs, therapy dogs and sporting or field -working dogs.
Massage therapy is not a substitute for proper veterinary care, but actually a compliment to it.

Massage sessions generally last 50 to 60 minutes, and are presently done in the client's home.  The fee per session is
$50.00.  A mileage fee will be added for the service performed outside a 10-mile radius of the home office.
